Deniz Demircioğlu is a second-year MBA student working under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Eminegül Karababa. Her research interests are consumer culture, sustainable consumption, consumer behavior, motives for luxury consumption and art consumption. Concerned with the environment, she studies the drives and motives for sustainable consumption and the ways to foster them. Within this context, her research engages with green consumption and practice theory. She worked as a Researcher in the Shape Energy Project, a European platform for energy-related social sciences and humanities. She worked as an organizer in two workshops and has two publications within the scope of this projects. During her undergraduate studies at METU Mining Engineering, she became interested in the culture and history of gemstones and the ways they create value for people. Parallel to this interest, she also aims to investigate luxury consumption. She developed an interest in drawing and painting at an early age and supported her interest with a couple of courses to become professional. Currently she is interested in oil painting and also researches the factors that contribute to the perceived value of art materials and factors that affect the demand for this type of work. She is also interested in art consumption.
