Özlem Özdemir
Dr. Özdemir received her BS in business administration at METU. She holds an MSc degree in marketing and a PhD in economics from Texas Tech University. She was a post-doctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Economics, Germany in the area of strategic behavior and economic experiments. She joined METU BA in 2007. Her research areas are behavioral and experimental economics (specifically individual decision-making under risk and uncertainty), and entrepreneurship. She has published several papers in international peer reviewed journals such as Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics, Journal of Risk Research, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Review, and Bulletin of Economic Research among others. She also authored several chapters in books published by well-known international publishers, mostly about the behavioral aspects of disaster management, entrepreneurship, and energy. She has participated in several projects in cooperation with international (such as World Bank, ILO, American National Institute of Standards and Structural Technology) and national (such as TÜBİTAK, Ministries) organizations. She regularly contributes to several to interdisciplinary platforms at METU, such as the Design Factory, Earth System Sciences Program, and Disaster Management Center. Besides her research output, she acted as the Assistant Dean between the years 2012 to 2015 and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences between the years 2015 to 2018.
